Denmark and Sweden have refused to play against Russia in the 2027 Ice Hockey World Cup. If the Russian team is allowed to participate in the tournament, Norway and Latvia will also not play a game with them. In Latvia, the ban on matches with teams from Russia and Belarus is enshrined in legislation. After the CAS decision to admit Russian national teams to international tournaments, the federations of Germany, the Czech Republic and Canada opposed it. Germany, which hosts the World Cup from May 14 to 30, 2027, is considering pulling out of the tournament.
