The Federal Tax Service has begun to check transactions of Russians with real estate in Belarus. The Russian Tax Service is finding out whether citizens declare income from selling apartments in Belarus and renting them out. According to the Telegram base channel, in 2026, Russians bought twice as many apartments in Minsk as in the previous year. Buyers are also attracted by Gomel, Mogilev and Brest. The Federal Tax Service receives information on foreign transactions as part of data exchange with Belarusian counterparts. The tax obligations depend on the resident's status and the duration of ownership of the property. If the tax paid in Belarus turns out to be lower than in Russia, you will have to pay the difference. There are penalties for not submitting a report and not paying taxes.
