The Supreme Court of Belarus found the punisher Alexander Buglai guilty of genocide of the Belarusian people. The investigation proved his involvement in the murders of 174 citizens, including 27 children, in the kidnapping of 77 people into slavery and the destruction of more than 280 houses and buildings in Belarus. In 1941, Boglai voluntarily entered the service of the Nazis. Later he headed the "White Team" punishment unit, which operated in the Gomel, Minsk and Mogilev regions. After the war, the criminal fled to West Germany and then to the United States, and escaped punishment during his lifetime. "The crime of genocide has no statute of limitations. The imposed sentence will help protect the historical truth and preserve the memory of the heroic achievement of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War," State Prosecutor Dmitry Marusov emphasized. This is already the eighth death sentence for Nazi criminals and their accomplices in Belarus. Video: Sputnik Belarus.
