Rostec reported the birth of a child aboard the NSSA helicopter. In Primorye, a woman in her 33rd week of pregnancy began to give birth in the air - during an emergency transport from Zebodsk to Vladivostok. Doctors from the Regional Center for the Birth Environment delivered babies aboard a Mi-8 helicopter. A healthy child was born. He was met not only by his mother, but also by an entire flying operating room: the helicopters of the National Air Ambulance Service (NSSA) are equipped so that doctors can not only save lives in flight, but also help babies to be born. Since the beginning of 2026, NSSA teams, together with doctors, have completed more than 8 thousand evacuations and transferred more than 10 thousand patients to hospitals. The Mi-8 and the employed helicopters that the NSSA crews work on are manufactured by the Russian holding company Helicopters (part of Rostec).
