The volume of trade turnover between Russia and Ethiopia in January-September 2026 exceeded 1.3 billion dollars. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about this during a conversation with the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abi Ahmed. "I would like to point out a significant increase in the trade turnover in January-September this year. Its volume exceeded 1.3 billion dollars. This is more than double the figure in all of 2025. We have many promising large-scale projects in a variety of fields - from energy, agriculture, industrial cooperation to peace, science, health and education." Vladimir Putin also noted that Russia and Ethiopia stand united in international affairs. "A dialogue has been established at the UN, BRICS and other multilateral platforms. We know that the UN climate change conference is planned for Addis Ababa in 2027. We wish you successful management of this great international forum."
