In Vladivostok, doctors saved a woman whose stomach had compressed her heart and lung. Surgeons at Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Vladivostok operated on a patient with a huge hiatal hernia. By the time she was admitted to the hospital, her stomach had moved completely into her chest cavity and had almost stopped her left lung. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Primorye. The operation lasted three hours. The doctors returned the stomach to the abdominal cavity, closed the defect in the diaphragm with an implant and created a protective sleeve to prevent the flow of stomach contents back into the esophagus. Now the patient is recovering.
