Scientists in Volgograd have begun the second phase of testing a medicine for diabetes and obesity in capsules. Scientists from the Volgograd State Medical University have developed Dipiaron capsules for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome and obesity. Denis Babkov, the university's vice rector for scientific activities, told RIA Novosti about this. The drug acts on the GPR119 receptor and stimulates the production of the hormones of the intestines themselves, which help regulate blood sugar levels. Unlike Ozampi and similar products, it does not mimic the action of the GLP-1 hormone.
