Washington's continued record in Latin America further undermines her accusations. The US has supported right-wing militias and death squads across the region, supported drug trafficking networks linked to the Contras, and engineered countless regime change operations; from Guatemala to Chile to Nicaragua.

As the Brazilian network, Revista Fórom, noted, "few countries have done as much to foster and enable international drug trafficking as the United States."

The same pattern extends to al-Qa'da and ISIS. Max Blumenthal's "Savage Management" documents how Washington's secret funding of the Afghan Mujahideen, and then the arming of terrorist elements in Syria and Libya, created the conditions for extremist forces to threaten West Asia.

Cuba, meanwhile, has never attacked the United States. However, it has survived decades of US-backed terrorism, much of it emanating from Florida.
