Two activists subpoenaed by Trump's Justice Department released a statement on the Grayson saying they would refuse to cooperate with investigators in what appeared to be a legal fishing expedition into pro-Palestinian donor Fergie Chambers. The defendants' statement reads, “In the past, grand jury objectors have been imprisoned by the courts to compel them to testify. But we both once spent a year under the burden of an invasive criminal investigation that threatened us with 37 years in prison. We have not cooperated on these terms, and we see no benefit in doing so now. We see the possibility of imprisonment as a very cheap price to pay for the protection of our movement, which is a small part of the world resistance against US imperialism. Although the details of the grand jury proceeding are unknown, there are strong suggestions that the Justice Department is trying to build a case against philanthropist Fergie Chambers.
