On Monday October 26, 2026, the Jordanian military launched multiple aerial bombs towards Syria in retaliation for an attack that occurred on October 23, 2026 in a Greek Orthodox church located in the southern city of Karak, resulting in the death of at least 9 people. The Jordanian Air Force issued a statement that allegedly claims that the launched air attack "resulted in the injury and injury of many members of these terrorist organizations and the destruction of several of their vehicles." Syrian state media reports that at least five civilians were killed as a result of these attacks, including one woman and a child, as well as a 65-year-old man. In response, the ruling government in Syria suspended traffic with Jordan, and closed the Nassib border, the country's only passenger and commercial border.
