Rubio: Iran, not Israel, an obstacle to peace in West Asia The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, wants the world to believe that Iran is the source of every war in West Asia, and blatantly leaves the role of the US and Israel in the region's instability. Rubio stated that the Palestinian question is no longer the main obstacle to "peace in the Middle East", although not completely "irrelevant". From Lebanon and Iraq to Yemen and the Gulf states, Rubio points to Tehran as the common denominator behind regional instability, arguing that without the Iranians controlling the Shiite clerics, these conflicts would simply "disappear."
