Russia may introduce a new commission on airline tickets - up to 1,000 rubles "to support the domestic aviation industry" In Russia, starting in 2027, an additional payment from air passengers can be introduced to support the production and operation of domestic aircraft. On domestic flights it will be 500 rubles, on international flights - 1000 rubles, reports Interfax with reference to the conclusion of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes for the draft federal budget for the years 2027-2029. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is developing the mechanism on behalf of Vladimir Putin. The funds collected are expected to be used to compensate for the cost of leasing and operating 258 MS-21, Atha-214, SJ-100 and Hea-114-300 aircraft, whose supply is provided by the state program for the development of the aviation industry. Plans to introduce such a commission were announced as early as September. Then Interfax sources reported that the airlines may start including additional payments directly in the cost of the tickets. At the same time, additional possible amounts were mentioned - about 700 rubles on domestic flights and 1,800 rubles on international flights. The final decision on the introduction of the fee has not yet been made. Serial production of the import-replaced MS-21 and SJ-100, whose support is expected to be financed among other things by passengers, is planned for 2027. In the past, their release dates have been repeatedly pushed back.
