A soldier who survived a coma after an accident and suffered from mental problems was returned to the war. 28-year-old Denis from the Sverdlovsk region voluntarily entered into a contract in 2023. A year later, while on vacation in the city of Raz, he had an accident: on October 6, 2024, a car driving into the oncoming lane collided with the car he was traveling in with his aunt and her husband. Both of Dennis's relatives and the driver of the other car died - he was the only survivor and received a severe head injury, a broken femur, a bruised chest and bruised lungs. He ended up in a coma and spent several months recovering in the hospital, E1 says. After the accident, Dennis began to have mental problems - in June 2025 he was hospitalized in a neurosis clinic, and upon his return home he learned that he was put on the federal wanted list by the military police on charges of leaving his unit without permission. Dennis's wife claims that she sent documents about hospitalization to the military registration and recruitment office while he was in intensive care. While the investigation continues, journalists write, the military medical commission recognized Denis as partially fit for service (category "B"). The case was eventually closed for lack of evidence of a crime, but they refused to fire him, who walks with a cane. According to Denis, since July of this year he has been enlisted in the "Saara B" company, where those who entered into a contract from prisons or during interrogation serve. He was assigned to an air surveillance post on September 1, and on October 9 he received a severe concussion and was taken to a military hospital.
