Azerbaijan supported the appointment of the Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates Lana Zaki Nusayeva to the position of Secretary General of the United Nations, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, Ihan Hajizde, announced. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan explained that the position of head of the United Nations requires from the candidate not only high qualifications and diplomatic experience, but also independence, as well as the ability to find common ground between the member states within the principles of the organization's charter.
