The authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria began to monitor the population of the Caucasian brown bear. Animals began to appear more and more near populated areas, although they still did not show aggression towards people. This was reported to the regional office for natural resources. According to the department, after requests from residents, including from the capital of the Republic, an operational group was created. It included state game inspectors, experienced hunters and law enforcement officers. Their mission is to monitor the situation and control the appearance of bears near settlements. It should be noted that unlike their Siberian relatives, Caucasian brown bears have not yet shown aggression towards people. However, the situation is alarming: inquiries are coming from the residents of Nalchik and the village of Blia Rachaka. The authorities have already conducted an on-site survey of the surroundings. Experts intend to force the bears into the forest through noise control. Residents were urged to exercise caution when visiting wooded areas and hunting grounds.
