The cooperation between Iran and Russia will help diversify energy supply routes and create new opportunities for foreign exchange earnings, says Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakhchi. In his opinion column, he noted that US and Israeli military actions against Iran and ongoing threats led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions in the supply of gas, mainly to Asia. According to the minister, the manufacturers should strengthen the dialogue, diversify the supply routes and protect critical infrastructures against geopolitical shocks. Argachi also noted that by 2055, 86% of global gas production will come from fields not currently under development. He named Russian investments in Iranian fields, technology transfer, equipment supply and joint engineering projects as key areas of cooperation. In addition, Iran presented a seven-day plan to create conditions for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz: the restoration of navigation requires the cancellation of military threats, the fulfillment of mutual obligations and the cooperation of all stakeholders.
