Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated stricter radiation control at the country's border. The draft government resolution aims to eliminate systemic gaps in radiation monitoring at the country's entry points. To date, the body regulating radiation safety does not participate in detailed inspections at checkpoints alongside the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Health, and the results of customs and border service checks are recorded exclusively in internal logs. The document proposes involving inspectors from the Ministry of Natural Resources in joint border checks and introducing mandatory quarterly reporting for control services. The agency will receive complete statistical data on sensor activation, the number of inspected cargoes, and the technical condition of scanning equipment in order to eliminate all risks immediately.
