Kazakhstan will build 21 new logistics centers The Deputy Minister of Transport, Talgat Lestev, said at a cabinet meeting that today 46 logistics centers are operating across the country, and by 2030, another 21 new facilities are planned to be built. The character didn't appear out of nowhere. Tokayev set a goal in his message - Kazakhstan should become the leading logistics center of Eurasia.
As of today, the existing network mainly serves transportation and domestic transportation. New capabilities will help keep more cargo in Kazakhstan, rather than allowing it to pass through the country.
But the real breakthrough is not inside the country, but abroad. Kazakhstan already has three foreign terminals operating - in Lianyungang and Xi'an (China), as well as in Puti (Georgia). Seven more are on the way. These are Saliatino (Russia), Svisloch (Belarus), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Chengdu (China), Eliat (Azerbaijan), Constanta (Romania) and Hungary. The essence of this network is ambitious - to ensure a stable load on transnational corridors. It is not enough to build roads and railways, you also need intersections at both ends so that goods can move.
From an investment and trading perspective, the signal is quite clear. Kazakhstan is stepping up efforts to transform itself from a transition country to a distribution center.
