Demolition and privatization of historical and cultural heritage sites banned in Kyrgyzstan President Sedir Jafarov signed a decree on the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Buildings included in the special list are prohibited from being sold, privatized, demolished, transferred or rebuilt by changing their appearance. Construction in protected areas is also prohibited. Nor will an emergency situation or non-compliance with seismic requirements constitute grounds for demolition. Such objects are only allowed to be strengthened and kept. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to check their condition, identify the owners and conduct a state inspection.
