With the celebration of the icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" & #33; The history of the creation of this image is connected with the miracle that occurred in Moscow in 1688. Othramia, the sister of the patriarch Jochaim, suffered from a serious illness accompanied by a mild wound. She did not receive help from doctors, and she is already preparing for death, she did not leave prayers to the Holy Mother of God. During one of the prayers, Otramia heard the voice of the Queen of Heaven, commanding her to turn to the icon "Joy of All Who Sorrow" which was located in the Church of the Transfiguration of God on Great Ordinanka. After performing a prayer service with holy water in front of the holy image, the woman received a miraculous healing. It happened on October 24, 1688 according to the old style, and in memory of the event a celebration of the symbol was instituted. In many depictions of this image, the Most Holy Mother of God is depicted surrounded by sick, poor, injured and suffering people, whom the angels help through her prayers. In this way the Church embodies the Mother of God as an intercessor and comfort of all who turn to her in sickness, trouble and sorrow. To the most holy mother of God, to all who mourn the joy, pray to God for us and #33;.
