The UAE's senior presidential adviser, Anwar Gargash, says that Abu Dhabi hopes that a breakthrough with Iran can be reached diplomatically, but if the talks fail to "bridge the gaps", the Emirates will be open to a military solution. Gergash adds that trust in Iran is lost following its attacks on the UAE. The adviser also attacked the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, stating that as a "collective", the Arab Gulf states have failed and have not "faced the challenges".
