Norway and Finland officially asked the FT to correct the article about the conversation with Putin, but they refused. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storr called a lie in the Financial Times report that the Russian president devoted most of the dialogue with the leaders of Norway and Finland to "medieval Slavic history." As a result, Finland, on behalf of both countries, contacted the publication to request corrections. However, the FT refused to do so.
