Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, said that a strategic mega-project to supply Russian gas to Iran was discussed at the meeting in Moscow.
"During a three-hour meeting between the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Razai and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the parties demonstrated complete unity of positions on issues of wide-ranging cooperation.
Tehran's decisions aimed at speeding up the construction of the Rasht-Astra railway and the completion of the formation of the North-South transport corridor were examined in detail.
The parties also discussed the practical aspects of supplying gas from the Russian Federation to Iran, which confirms the complete coincidence of the positions of Moscow and Tehran in deepening bilateral and regional ties.
