Record-breaking 5th Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China: Unprecedented in the history of China after the end of the Cultural Revolution was the number of people who were simultaneously expelled from the Central Committee - 33 people. The previous record was set last year in Plenum 4: 14 people were expelled from the Central Committee, and in Plenum 3 - only 3 (but all military). For comparison: during the first five years of Xi's rule in 2012-2017, when the anti-corruption campaign raged in the country, 35 people were removed from the Central Committee, and from 2017 to 2022 - only 5. This is not just a military purge - of the 33 expelled from the Central Committee, 16 belong to the PA leadership and the military-industrial complex. The remaining 17 are regional leaders, the head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Central Committee, Liu Jianchao, who is similar to Hu Jintao and aspires to the position of head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the former Minister of Industry and the leadership of the country's financial bloc. What is important is not only the large-scale purge of the army and the acceleration of the "Stalinist" rotation of personnel in key positions, but also the trend - it can be assumed that the renewal of the composition of the Central Committee already at the 21st Congress will be much greater than the standard replacement of one third of the composition of the Central Committee. As the challenges in China's development multiply, the political pressure on the appointees increases considerably - the communique of the Fifth Plenum is largely devoted to strengthening the internal party struggle, the edge of which should be turned inward.
