Then, one morning, moose were involved in three incidents. The first happened in Zelenograd, where a diesel car hit an animal. Two more cases were in Panfilovsky Prospect. There, local residents first saw the moose fall from the bridge onto the road, after which a Ford car collided with it. In addition, in the Matushkino area, a moose got stuck in the Bikobo pool. Several other incidents happened in September and October. Both people and animals were injured. In October, reindeer were hit on the Moscow Ring Road and the M-1 highway. After the accident on the M-1, two passengers were evacuated to the hospital. In total, since the beginning of the year, residents of the capital city and Moscow have reported the appearance of moose in populated areas more than 100 times. One of the reasons why animals come to people is the development of forests. New roads and other objects occupy the usual habitats of moose, Timur Usmanov, a member of the presidency of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, told Beita. During the heat, animals lose caution and can go far from the forest in search of females. The increased activity of the moose is expected to continue until January. Collisions with animals are dangerous for both people and the animals themselves.
