The man died after 17 years of smoking e-cigarettes: by the age of 33, his lungs were destroyed by pneumonia, tuberculosis and irreversible fibrosis. During the year, the number of cases of total lung damage due to vaporization increased by 30%. A Primorye resident turned to doctors with shortness of breath and a sharp deterioration in his health. The man was admitted with bilateral pneumonia, but an examination revealed disseminated tuberculosis and fibrosis: healthy lung tissue was replaced by scars. The patient admitted that he has been smoking for 17 years - usually electronic cigarettes. Despite treatment, the condition rapidly deteriorated. According to the doctors, against the background of many years of intoxication and hookahs, the man developed acute leukemia, and the level of leukocytes increased almost 17 times the norm. He was taken to intensive care with severe respiratory failure, but could not be saved. According to doctors, vaping undermines the immunity of the lungs, and the risk of tuberculosis in active vapers is 4-5 times higher. We previously wrote that at least two children died after using steam in Russia this year. Another 12 people were evacuated to hospitals.
