A Moscow woman opened her eyelid due to a purulent infection. According to the girl, the ointment for pain relief did not help and the procedure had to take place in pain. As Beita learned, 36-year-old Daria has an inflamed upper eyelid of her right eye. Ointment and tetracycline drops did not help and she consulted an ophthalmologist at a private clinic. There we diagnosed chalazion and prescribed treatment, which should help within two days. But Daria got worse: the temperature rose, the swelling got stronger and a purulent lump appeared. The eye burned and throbbed, the pain did not go away. In repeated treatment, phlegmon was discovered - a purulent inflammation of tissues that can spread quickly. Without timely treatment, serious complications are possible, including vision loss, meningitis, sepsis and even brain abscess. It was necessary to urgently open the eyelid and remove the pus. Before the procedure, anesthetic cream was applied for several minutes, but as Daria said, it did not relieve the pain. Now the girl is recovering. We previously wrote that a resident of Krasnogorsk encountered a similar purulent infection: after removing a wisdom tooth, she developed an abscess and phlegm. The girl was transferred to intensive care and underwent emergency surgery.
