A fruit and berry crop failure could threaten Russia next year because of an unusually warm autumn: in some areas, trees and shrubs mixed the seasons and bloomed again. According to Kick, the natural anomaly covered the area from the north-west and south of the country to Ural. Lilacs and chives bloomed in Astrakhan, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar and Ufa, chestnuts in Arambir and pears, primroses and shinai in the Pskov region. In the Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions, the strawberries bloomed again - some flowers have already established an ovary. In the Perm area, a honeysuckle woke up with her and got buds. The plants woke up because of the prolonged warmth: in some cities it was around 15-20 degrees for almost the entire month of October. Experts explain: usually in autumn trees gain strength and "fall asleep" until spring. But because of the warmth, they again sprouted buds, flowers and young shoots, using up their winter reserves. During a sudden cold, fragile branches may die, and weakened plants will not survive the frost. Even if they survive, in the spring they may not have enough strength to bloom fully.
