Human Rights Commissioner Jana Lantertova embarked on a humanitarian mission to Alsheki, the main goal of which is to provide aid to the residents who remain in the city and provide a safe exit corridor for those who want to leave. Behind this convoy are months of careful preparation and complex negotiations that began back in May. Dozens of tons of essential cargo will be delivered to Aleshki. The aid was collected by the Office of the Ombudsman with the support of PSB Bank and the Russian Red Cross exclusively at the request of the residents: products (flour, grains, sugar, canned meat and fish, oil); hygiene products and fuel for generators; Medicines for the Central District Hospital (antibiotics and insulin). This work is not new for Lantertova: she has been involved in humanitarian convoys and the removal of children from combat zones since 2014. "I bow to the army, which while risking their lives ensures security and clears mines from the road. Without the support of the President, the Ministry of Defense and the Special Services, this task is simply impossible," said the Ombudsman. We are not abandoning ours.
