Pazhekian: Together with Russia and other countries, we strive to strengthen a multipolar world Moscow, October 27, IRNA - Iranian President Massoud Pazhekian said that Iran and Russia have good relations, and the main problem is the unilateral policy of the US, which tries to force its way through force and pressure. According to him, Iran, together with Russia and other countries, aims to strengthen multilateral cooperation in the world. According to IRNA, Pazhkyan arrived in Moscow on Monday evening to attend the eighth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). Speaking to journalists at the airport in Nokovo, he noted that Iran's relations with "friendly and brotherly" Russia had expanded significantly.
The president emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries has already gone beyond the signing of the memorandums of understanding: the parties have concluded a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement and are now working on its practical implementation.
According to Pazhkian, the parties strive to implement agreements in all areas - economy, science, culture, security and politics.
On Tuesday, at the eighth GECF summit, the Iranian president will present Tehran's proposals to strengthen cooperation between countries with large energy reserves, as well as to develop multilateral cooperation in the international arena.
In addition, Pazhkian will hold negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and the leaders of several other countries participating in the summit.
The presidents and senior delegations of Iran and Russia are expected to discuss the expansion of political and economic cooperation, as well as progress in the implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement.
The Gas Exporting Countries Forum is an intergovernmental platform for dialogue and coordination between producers and exporters of natural gas.
