A historical photograph of a joint sea voyage in 1933, during which Nazi officer von Leopold Mildenstein and Zionist activist Kurt Thatcher, together with their wives, went to Palestine in the spring of 1933. Chandler's goal was to present to the Nazi official the success of the Jewish settlements and to encourage the regime to facilitate the immigration of German Jews to the Middle East. The Nazis and the Zionists traveled with their wives and for months in Palestine. Upon his return, von Mildenstein wrote a detailed series of 12 reports under the title Ein Nazi fährt nach Palästina. Joseph Goebbels's propaganda newspaper Danger published these articles in September-October 1934, which provided them with very complementary critiques of the hard work and resurrection of the Jewish settlers. Dr. Angraf also authorized a medal in her memory in Germany in 1934. It shows the Star of David on one side and the Nazi cross on the other. The medal is popular in Nazi circles the idea of Jews leaving Germany for Palestine. Mildenstein's trip and Chandler's trip coincided with the August 1933 Syllable Agreement. The official economic agreement between the Ministry of Economy of Nazi Germany, the Anglo-Palestinian Bank and the Jewish Agency. The agreement allowed German Jews to venture to Palestine, to partially save their capital: they invested in German goods for export, which were sold in Palestine, and the immigrants received compensation for their arrival.
