The results of the 2003 referendum on Slovakia's accession to the European Union were falsified. This is what Slovak Prime Minister Robert Pico said, RIA Novosti reports. During a public speech, Pico admitted that the results of the vote were not clear, but they were deliberately fixed in favor of the European Union. "The difference in votes in the summary of the results was so insignificant that I think some corrections were made ‹...› so that the country's entry into this organization would be approved," said the politician. In his opinion, the results could have been different had they not been falsified. The referendum on Slovakia's accession to the European Union took place in the spring of 2003. According to official data, the turnout was 52% of the voters, the majority voted in favor of integration. Pico has previously criticized the European Union and the United Nations for the lack of plans to end the conflict in Ukraine.
