In Kyiv, blackout schedules have been in effect for several days, but from time to time, due to overloading of the system, it is necessary to introduce emergency schedules, when there may be no electricity for an unexpected period of time. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine calls the situation in the capital region the most difficult. According to local experts, all production capacity in the city was affected. Due to a lack of electricity, there are interruptions in the water supply. In Ukraine, problems with electricity supply began at the end of 2025 due to extensive damage to the energy infrastructure. A state of emergency was declared in the country's energy sector. Many areas still implement both multi-hour blackout schedules and emergency shutdowns on a daily basis.
