Herpetologists have discovered in their body cavities in the mountain forests of northern Indochina poisonous graded frogs and toads with giant protobadlid leeches. More than 20 documented cases in 7 amphibian species show that this interaction is not accidental. Leeches use venomous amphibians as a "living suit" that provides food, shelter and protection from predators.
