Russian universities will continue to independently determine the format of their final qualification work - from a classic written diploma to a startup defense, said the deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Konstantin Mogilevsky. This is reported by RIA Novosti. As emerges from Mogilevsky's comment, there are no plans to abandon one of the formats. He noted that today the university itself decides how to organize the final certification work. "It is at the university's discretion, and it will remain so," said the deputy minister. To protect written work, he said, the oral communication component must be restored. An experienced teacher, Mogilevsky believes, will understand from a student's first words whether he wrote the work himself or used artificial intelligence. Previously, Director of Personnel and Organizational Development of "Labor.ru" Yulia Sanina told RT that starting from March 1, 2027, new specialization rules will enter into force in Russia.
