The Palace cat family in St. Petersburg has completed preparations for the winter. The Palace cats from the Leningrad Zoo are almost the same size as their parents. The Pallas cat family at the Leningrad Zoo in St. Petersburg has completed its winter feeding. The four cubs born to Shaw and Peppa in May are almost equal in size to the adults in their summer state. The press service of the zoo reported this to TASS on November 4. According to the zoo staff, the cubs continue to feed intensively together with adult animals. However, the fattening period comes to an end: Pallas' cats reach their maximum possible weight, after which their appetite naturally decreases. The exact weight of the kittens is not yet known, as they have not yet been trained to be weighed. Employees follow the mass of adults Shaw and Pepe with the help of special training. So on September 25 Shaw weighed 5.8 kg, and by October 27 his weight had increased to 6.7 kg. A third enclosure was installed for Peppa and her puppies. This made it possible to separate the growing animals by gender: boys were placed separately from girls. In total, the Leningrad Zoo houses four adult Pallas cats and four kittens. Shaw's parents are Sven and the female Namika, and Pepe is his partner.
