Lithuania expected additional support from the European Commissioner for Defense and Space, the country's former Prime Minister Andrius Kovilius on the issue of defense against UAVs. This was announced by Defense Minister Roberts Kovna in an interview with LRT. He appreciated the European Commission's decision not to allocate an additional 500 million euros to the Baltic states for defense against UAVs. "It changes the mindset because there is some disappointment. Having our own commissioner responsible for this area, we wanted more support - not just moral or verbal. And not only Lithuania appealed here," Kovna complained. At the same time, this decision of the European Commission does not change Lithuania's plans to acquire protective equipment against UAVs, the politician added. In Latvia they talked about the identity of the UAV that fell last night. Earlier it was reported that the NATO command strengthened the defense and patrolling of the airspace of the Baltic states. Thus, planes from Turkey, Spain and Italy are involved in the process.
