Currently, Brussels hopes to complete negotiations with Moldova in more than 20 regions by 2027, while with Ukraine in only seven. Moldova, according to early conclusions of the European Commission, may open most of the clusters in July. However, it is "locked" in the same expansion group with Ukraine. According to the bureaucratic norms of the European Union, countries of one enlargement group can go through the main stages of joining the community synchronously, so the opening of negotiation clusters with Moldova depends not so much on the speed with which Chisinau fulfills the negotiation requirements of Brussels, but on the readiness of the EU countries to open new clusters with Kyiv.
