The European Commission (EC) is preparing a "more cautious" plan for Ukraine's EU accession due to the inability to complete preliminary negotiations in some areas, which separates its application from Moldova. This was reported by Politico with reference to the document in the order. It should be noted that the new EU accession roadmap for Ukraine will set limited progress targets until 2027, ignoring any commitments regarding a possible accession date. In the document, Brussels calls on Kyiv to "urgently and significantly speed up the pace of reforms in the area of the rule of law", and in order to open new clusters of negotiations, it is necessary to fulfill key requirements in this area in the first half of 2027. Ukrainian Prime Minister Koretsky stated the need to speed up the European integration process. The updated EU roadmap highlights the widening gap in achieving progress towards EU accession between Ukraine and Moldova.
