The Japanese created a program that allows you to "draw" on discs. Images appear directly on the surface of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs using a standard burner drive. Moreover, the design is created not with paint or laser engraving, but with a data recording process: the laser leaves areas on the disc that reflect light differently. That is, you load an image, the program converts it into a special sequence of data, taking into account the physical limitations of the disk, and then the result can be saved as an image or written immediately to disk. During recording, a pattern appears on its surface. Everything is free and open source - github link The author would have become a millionaire 20 years ago.
