The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Piden, expressed in a conversation with journalists following a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the G20 countries in the United States the opinion that after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, it will be necessary to develop new constructive principles of interaction between Russia and the European Union. The Turkish diplomat stressed that Moscow and Kiev will have to reach a peace settlement. However, he added that after the establishment of peace, Europe will also, in a certain sense, have to reconcile with Russia and rebuild the format of interaction, since the subject of peace is not limited to these two countries only, and this is an extremely important step. According to the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian crisis is causing enormous damage to the world economy. He stated that this fact is no longer hidden, although in the past European countries tried for a long time to silence the true socio-economic costs.
