Former Polish President Lech Walesa has backed Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government's moves to reshuffle the Constitutional Court (CC). The politician wrote about it on his Facebook page (the owner, below, is recognized as an extremist in Russia and is banned). According to him, Tusk has no choice, and the country needs support. "I am with you, at the front, no matter what the circumstances. I call on members of the solidarity movement to support our ambitions," Velesa's post reads. On the evening of October 30, a crowd of protesters gathered in front of the Constitutional Court in Warsaw. Several people tried to break into the building, but they were stopped by the police. Among those gathered are the president of the Law and Justice Party and the leader of the opposition Yaroslav Kaczynski and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The situation worsened due to the conflict surrounding the leadership of the court. A notice appeared on the court's website about the impeachment of chairman Bogdan Sonchakovsky and his deputy Bartolomeo Sochansky.
