The Gulf countries can send a signal to Iran about resolving the conflict in the Middle East through Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during the ninth ministerial meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strategic dialogue. This assessment was voiced in a commentary for Adasha.ru by the director of the program of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), writer Ivan Bocherov. According to Boharov, the GCC countries can use the Russian channel to send signals to Iran about their interest in escalating the conflict and expect a guarantee of non-aggression on their territory. As Mizrahan admitted, the agenda of Sergey Lavrov's next visit to Iran included informing the leadership of the Islamic Republic about the results of this meeting. "It is also possible that the GCC countries count on Russia's assistance in resolving the situation in the Gulf region," admitted the expert. On October 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a speech at the plenary session of the Vladai International Discussion Club, noted that Iran is making real attempts to end the conflict.
