The presence of shopping centers in Russia for nine months of 2026 decreased by 2.8%, writes "Kammersant". In Moscow, the fall was 2.9%, in St. Petersburg - 4.1%. According to alternative estimates, the Russian decline reaches 35%. Experts attribute the drop in arrivals to consumer savings, a drop in spontaneous purchases and fuel trades in the summer. The situation consists of lack of staff and unstable operation of some stores. Market participants do not expect the November sales to change the situation. At the same time, in Moscow and the Moscow region, the number of closing stores may exceed the number of new openings.
