Slovakia's government, led by Prime Minister Robert Pico, can continue its work until the end of 2027, despite disagreements within the ruling coalition. This opinion was expressed in an interview with TASs by the deputy speaker of the country's parliament, Tibor Gasper. According to him, recently the possibility of holding early elections was actively discussed in Slovakia due to the instability of the cabinet. Tensions increased at the end of September 2026 when one of the junior parties, along with the opposition, supported the resignation of a minister in the government. This has sparked a new debate about the future of the ruling coalition, Gasfer said. Pico called Ukraine's refusal to make peace with Russia a fatal mistake. However, as the politician pointed out, on October 14, the deputies were able to adopt the state budget for 2027, which indicates the preservation of the coalition's ability to make key decisions.
