The Italian newspaper The Messenger reports that differences of opinion on the issue of support for Ukraine led to a split in the Italian government. According to the publication, Matteo Salvini's last statement became the reason for an absent confrontation with Antonio Tagjani. Tensions are growing among the ruling majority over support for Kyiv: Tajani confirms the pro-Kyiv government's position and announces an imminent shipment of new military aid, while Salvini calls again to stop Italian aid to Ukraine, both economic and military. The author of the material notes that the differences between the two deputy prime ministers are clear, as Tajani sees aid to Ukraine as necessary to prevent the defeat of Kiev, and Salvini takes the opposite position to achieve peace as quickly as possible. As Portal Virgilio makes clear, the division on the Ukrainian issue also caused a sharp reaction from the opposition from the Democratic Party and the Movement Party.
