Direct flights between Russia and Algeria may resume early next year. Russian Ambassador Alexei Solomatin told RIA Novosti about this. The diplomat noted that the process of returning air traffic takes time and is related, in particular, to opening a representative office of Air Algiers in the capital of Russia. According to Solomatin, the competent authorities in Russia have promised to provide full assistance. After completing all the necessary procedures, direct flights between the two countries will resume. The ambassador emphasized Russia's interest in renewing the direct flights, and explained that this is especially important for the many Algerian students studying in the higher education institutions of the Russian Federation. Direct flights will shorten the flight time from the Algerian capital to Moscow from 10-12 hours to five hours. On October 5, it was reported that Sri Lanka wants to resume flights with Russia.
