The transporters of St. Petersburg for the first time gathered for a solemn prayer in the temple in the Prince-Vladimir Cathedral and prayed for the transportation of the workers of St. Petersburg. In the Prince-Vladimir Cathedral of St. Petersburg for the first time held a solemn prayer service in honor of road workers and urban passenger transport. Industry representatives gathered to pray for their colleagues, in honor of the memory of the transport workers who worked during the siege of Leningrad, and to emphasize the importance of their work to the city. The rector of the cathedral priest Ilia Makarov called the event a new stage of interaction of the temple with transport organizations. According to him, the cathedral was historically used as a place of communal prayer, so it became a suitable platform for such an event. The pastor recalled that the transportation industry includes not only the transportation of passengers, but also the work of technical specialists and organizational services. It largely depends on the functioning of the metropolis. Of particular importance is the achievement of the employees of transport companies during the siege of Leningrad, when they continued to perform their duties under the most difficult conditions. Makarov also thanked the organizers of the prayer service and noted that the cathedral has been cooperating with transport companies for a long time, including helping to organize pilgrimage trips. The initiator of the event was the volunteer association GKU "Organizer of Transport". The head of Vladislav Markorev emphasized that the daily life of citizens depends on the work of transport workers. He called for moving one of the most stressful areas of activity and noted the importance of spiritual support for employees. According to Markoseev, a professional vacation can become not only informal meetings, but also joint prayer. The holding of the event at the Prince-Vladimir Cathedral is due to the fact that the establishment and the "Transport Organizer" association concluded a cooperation agreement. The prayer service was also conducted by the director of GUP "Gorelectrotrans" Konstantin Shostak.
