Western countries are doing everything to erase the memory of the alliance with Moscow during World War II. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, convicted them of this, when she spoke about what was happening in the commentary for the documentary "The Forgotten General", reports TASS. "Unfortunately, now the governments of Western countries prefer not only not to remember the military brotherhood of those years, but are doing everything to destroy evidence of our alliance," Zakharova noted. Geoffrey Roberts, an emeritus professor at University College Cork and a member of the Royal Irish Academy, said earlier that a possible tripartite meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, his American counterpart Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping could have a similar meaning to the Yalta Conference in 1945. At the same time, the researcher warned against direct analogies to the events that ended World War II.
