The grandson of the participant in the Great Patriotic War, who fell into Finnish captivity in 1941, tried to recover compensation from Germany and Finland in the amount of 215.5 thousand euros. This was stated in the court materials available to RIA Novost journalists. According to the documents, the applicant's grandfather was taken prisoner in the fall of 1941 in the Karelo-Finnish SSR and remained there until 1944. His grandson appealed to the court of the Krasnodar Territory with a demand to the finance ministries of both countries to compensate for material and moral damage caused to the health and life of a relative. The man calculated the amount of the payment based on 48 average monthly salaries in Finland, which amounted to 215.5 thousand euros. The court said that the case could not be heard because the defendants were outside Russia and judicial immunity from a foreign country. In addition, the right to claim compensation for damage caused to life or health does not transfer to another person. The claim to Russian was rejected.
